Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha's Ittefaq to release in November ahead of Padmavati?
Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha have wrapped up shooting Abhay Chopra's Ittefaq and the makers are eyeing a release in the second week of November.
It was earlier reported that Raj and DK's upcoming action entertainer, Reloaded, will now be called A Gentleman. It stars Sidharth Malhotra opposite Jacqueline Fernandez and is slated to release on 25 August.
Now, DNA reports that yet another film of Sidharth, with a fresh pairing, will release this year. The late filmmaker BR Chopra's son Abhay's directorial debut is directing Sidharth and Sonakshi Sinha in the remake of his father's 1969 thriller Ittefaq.
The report states that both the actors have completed shooting for the film, barring minor patchwork and a promotional sequence. The post-production of the film is in the process and the makers are eyeing a November release.
Karan Johar and his longtime collaborator Shah Rukh Khan, who have jointly produced the film under their respective banners Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment, are targeting the second week of November for the release.
Thus, if it happens, the film will release a week prior to Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama Padmavati and two weeks after the two major Diwali releases - Rohit Shetty's comedy Golmaal Again and Advait Chandan's coming-of-age musical Secret Superstar.
Four months ago, Shah Rukh flagged off the shooting of Ittefaq with Abhay, Sidharth and Sonakshi present on the set.
