Rajya Sabha bypoll on 16 November for Rajasthan seat vacated by Venkaiah Naidu

The bypoll to the Rajya Sabha seat vacated by M Venkaiah Naidu on becoming the vice-president will be held on 16 November, the Election Commission said on Tuesday.

Rajya Sabha bypoll on 16 November for Rajasthan seat vacated by Venkaiah Naidu

New Delhi: The bypoll to the Rajya Sabha seat vacated by M Venkaiah Naidu on becoming the vice-president will be held on 16 November, the Election Commission said on Tuesday.

Naidu was a member of the Upper House from Rajasthan. He had resigned as Rajya Sabha member on 10 August while his term was to end on 4 July, 2022.

A statement issued by the commission said the notification for the bypoll will be issued on 30 October and 6 November will be the last date of filing nominations.
