Parents stage protest outside Bengaluru school, after alleged sexual assault of three-year-old
A three-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at her school in Indiranagar in Bengaluru, police said on Tuesday.

Bengaluru: The alleged sexual assault of a three-year-old girl on the campus of her school in Indiranagar on Monday evening, saw parents stage a silent protest outside the school on Tuesday. According to the police, the assault was perpetrated by the school watchman, who has been taken into custody. While this is the first such case reported in the city this year, last year saw a series of assaults on campus being reported to the police.

The parents, who are from the Northeast, found out about the incident as the girl complained of pain in her private parts after returning from school, following which they filed a police complaint.
The police said that the girl was taken for medical examination at Bowring Hospital on Monday evening. Meanwhile, a case has been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and the investigation is on, the police added.
While the police is examining CCTV footage to confirm the identity of the accused, school authorities have suggested that the girl was was in class during the timeframe in which she is believed to have been assaulted.
