One shot dead by Ulfa militants in Assam's Tinsukia district
A group of five suspected militants of the anti-talk Ulfa faction came to the house of Arvind Shah, a small trader, and fired indiscriminately at those outside it around 7.30 pm.
Tinsukia, Assam: Suspected Ulfa-Independent militants shot dead one person and injured two others at Bahbon village in Philobari area of the district this evening, police said.

One person, identified as Kishori Teli, died on the spot while the two injured were admitted to hospital, police
Senior police and civil officials have rushed to the area where security measures were tightened.
Suspected Ulfa-I militants on Thursday exploded an improvised explosive devise (IED) in a drain near a tea garden
in Philobari but none was injured.
Over 11 lakh have been impacted due to rain and floods in 25 districts of the state.
The worst affected districts are Barpeta where 11,29,390 are affected, followed by Kamrup with 7,89,496, Dhubri with 5,97,153 and Nagaon with 5,03,450 people in the flood
