Team Anna arrived in Mumbai to start their protest against a weak Lokpal bill at the MMRDA ground but as soon as key members Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal arrived, the former made an announcement disclosing that Anna Hazare is suffering from fever and urged their supporters to ask the Gandhian to break his fast. The latest from Mumbai is that Anna Hazare has asked for pressure to be maintained on the government, calling on his supporters to court arrest once his three-day fast was over.

The Parliament was in turmoil again as debates over the controversial bill continue. You can hear Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narayanasamy outline the pros of the current bill and the cons of the bill Team Anna is demanding in the bulletin.

Sushma Swaraj launched a scathing attack on the government,  asking them to withdraw the bill. However, Telecom minister Kapil Sibal hit back, saying the BJP should practice what they preach and challenged them to pass a strong Lokpal in the states they are governing.

For the first time in several years, Mukesh and Anil Ambani will be seen together as they reach Chorwad for their their father’s 80th birth anniversary .

Shares of Reliance Anil Dhirubhais Ambani group rose after Kokilaben, mother of the business moguls, said that both the brothers do not have any differences between them and that they are together now.

In international news, an Indian youth has been murdered in Manchester's Salford area. The victim, who was a student has been identified as Anuj Bidve and was shot to death after a couple of men approached him outside a McDonald's outlet.  Police have not ruled out racism as a motive.

In sport, Sachin Tendulkar gave the Melbourne crowd a show of his class, but fell short of his 100th century...yet again! The little master was on 73 when he was bowled by Peter Siddle.

After dismissing Australia for 333 in the first innings, the Indian top-order did well to end the day on 214 for three.

Boxing Day last night produced a series of results in the English Premier League which affected the table in a huge way. Most notable was Dimitar Berbatov's hat-trick as Manchester United beat Wigan 5-0 at Old Trafford to move level on points with Manchester City at the top as they could only manage a 0-0 draw against West Bromwich Albion.
