NDA 3.0 cabinet accommodates 6 former chief ministers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who took the oath of office today as the leader of a council of 71 ministers, will have six former chief ministers in his new government. Shivraj Sinh Chouhan, the three-time chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Manohar Lal Khattar, the former two-time chief minister of Haryana, Rajnath Singh, the former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Sarbananda Sonowal, the former chief minister of Assam, are among his thirty-member cabinet.

Jitan Ram Manjhi and HD Kumaraswamy, who led Karnataka and Bihar for brief periods, are among the allies of the NDA.

Modi served as Gujarat Chief Minister prior to his elevation to the prime ministership.

In addition to thirty Cabinet members, PM Modi’s new team consists of thirty junior ministers and five members of State with Independent Charge. 39 of the other twenty-three council members were formerly center ministers, and 23 of them had held state minister positions.

Eleven ministers from NDA allies are on the council, and they bring a plethora of experience and knowledge with them.

The cabinet’s top lineup, which comprised Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, S Jaishankar, Piyush Goyal, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Dharmendra Pradhan, Bhupender Yadav, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Pralhad Joshi, and Giriraj Singh, demonstrated PM Modi’s emphasis on continuity and expertise.

Each and every minister received the oath of office from President Drpoupadi Murmu.

The Telugu Desam Party of Chandrababu Naidu, which garnered 16 seats, and the Janata Dal United of Nitish Kumar, which gave the NDA 12 more seats, are the main subjects of attention. With 240 members, the BJP is 32 seats short of a majority.

The Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, TDP leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister-elect Chandrababu Naidu, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge were among the dignitaries present at the ceremony.
