Narendra Modi govt's cabinet reshuffle to take place on Tuesday

New Delhi: The much-talked about expansion of the Union Cabinet is set to take place on Tuesday morning, a top government official said.

There were talks of cabinet expansion for the past several months amid speculation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi could induct new faces from Uttar Pradesh which is going to polls next year.

Modi had earlier met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to discuss the issue.

There is also a vacancy in the Council of Ministers after Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal became the Chief Minister of Assam.
