New Delhi: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Russia, the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) on Thursday approved a deal to buy Russian S-400 missile systems, defence ministry sources said. The sources said negotiations for the deal will be done during the prime minister’s visit, and a preliminary agreement is expected at that time. The DAC meeting was chaired by defence minister Manohar Parrikar. Modi will be in Russia on a state visit from 23 to 25 December. IANS
