A man in Uttar Pradesh was allegedly shot dead by a Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA's brother on Saturday night for overtaking his vehicle.

A man in Uttar Pradesh was allegedly shot dead by a Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA's brother on Saturday night for overtaking his vehicle.

The incident took place in Balrampur after the victim identified as Jairam Yadav was returning after attending a marriage at Tariyapurwa village, reported IBNLive.

The MLA is the brother of the accused is Jagram Paswan and Balrampur Sadar in UP Assembly. His brothers Annu and Sadhu Paswan fled from the spot after the assault, the report said.

Police have registered a case of murder against the accused and are trying to apprehend the culprits.

According to another report in Hindustan Times, Pradeep Kumar Yadav, Balram superintendent of police, said eight teams were out to nab the culprits who have absconding till now.
