Sources have told CNN-IBN that Sundanda Pushkar's post-mortem report suggests that she died of drug poisoning due to overdose.

5.45 pm: Preliminary autopsy report submitted to SDM

The preliminary autopsy report of Sunanda Tharoor has been submitted to the Sub Divisional Magistrate which is probing her death.

A three-member team of AIIMS had conducted the post mortem which was also video recorded.

11.00 am: Sunanda Pushkar had drawn up will three months prior to death

According to news reports, Sunanda Pushkar had sought the help of Rohit Kochhar, a friend and corporate lawyer, to help her draw up a will about three months before her death. At the time, she told him, “life is uncertain.”

According to the report in Hindustan Times, at the time of drawing up her will, Pushkar was on good terms with her husband but worried about her health.

“She asked me to do so when she was in the pink of moods and favourably disposed towards Shashi. She spoke about life’s uncertainty in the context of her illness,” said Kochhar.

According to an article in Economic Times, Pushkar had considerable personal wealth. "A declaration in 2012-13 pegs her assets at more than 112 crore. Tharoor declared assets worth 6.34 crore."

7.40 am: Shattered by Sunanda Pushkar's death, says Mehr Tarar

Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar, who has been involved in the controversy around Sunanda Pushkar's death, spoke to UK newspaper The Telegraph and said that she was "shattered" by the death.

One day before her death, Sunanda Pushkar went on a now infamous Twitter rant, using Tharoor's Twitter account to broadcast messages that Tarar had purportedly sent the union minister, professing intense feelings for him. Pushkar later went on to call Tarar an ISI agent and accused her of hacking into her computer, and also trying to break her marriage.

7.15 am: Mehr Tarar might be questioned in Sunanda Pushkar's case

The Delhi Police probing Sunanda Puskhar’s death may record the statement of Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar. According to a report which appeared in DNA, the police are investigating any possible links that her alleged affair might have had with Sunanda's death.

“If the probe establishes that Pushkar was distraught and depressed over the alleged affair which led to the suicide, then there is enough ground to make a case of abetment. It is only then that we will need to record Tarar’s statement and will seek the help of the external affairs ministry," said a senior investigating official.

7am: Anti-depressant drugs found in Sunanda Pushkar's body, says AIIMS

 There was no trace of alcohol in the body of Sunanda Pushkar though some evidence of presence of anti-depressant drug was likely, AIIMS sources said today.

Doctors at the AIIMS, where a three-member board of doctors performed the postmortem yesterday, had said the death
was "sudden and unnatural".

AIIMS sources today said the doctors have not found any trace of alcohol in the body. But presence of Alprazolam, which belongs to a group of psychoactive drugs used as sedatives, cannot be ruled out.

Investigators had recovered an empty strip of Alprax from the hotel room.

8.20 pm: SDM questions Tharoor about his marriage to Sunanda Pushkar

The latest informaton with regards to the investigations on Sunanda Pushkar's death indicate that the Sub divisional magistrate has questioned a total of 8 people. This list includes Pushkar's son, brother, union minister Shashi Tharoor himself and five members of their personal staff.

CNN-IBN quoting sources, said that the magistrate had questioned Tharoor about the circumstances leading to Sunanda's death.

He had been questioned about their relationship ever since they got married, and had also been questioned about the nature of his relationship with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar.

One day before her death, Sunanda Pushkar went on a now infamous Twitter rant, using Tharoor's Twitter account to broadcast messages that Tarar had purportedly sent the union minister, professing intense feelings for him. Pushkar later went on to call Tarar an ISI agent and accused her of hacking into her computer, and also trying to break her marriage.

She added that Taroor 'being a man' had been 'flattered' by the attention.

Meanwhile CNN-IBN also reported that investigating officers have recovered anti depressant drugs from Sunandas room. Call and sms details of sunanda pushkars phone are being examined. Especially those in the hours leading upto her death.

While police have said that they suspect a case of suicide, doctors who conducted the post mortem report have said that they found some injuries on the body, although the nature of these have not been revealed.

The Post mortem report is scheduled to be submitted to magistrate tomorrow.

The Magisterial inquiry is scheduled to conclude by Tuesday or Wednesday the latest.

Union minister Shashi Tharoor has recorded his statement in front of a magistrate in his wife Sunanda's death case. No further details were immediately available.

5.15 pm: Shashi Tharoor's statement to be recorded today

The SDM is likely to record the statement of union minister Shashi Tharoor in connection with the death of his wife, Sunanda Pushkar, later this evening.

Tharoor had earlier written to Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and asked that the probe into Pushkar's death be expedited as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile Pushkar's friend and journalist Nalini Singh has already recorded her statement with the SDM

Singh had told media that she had spoken to Pushkar the day that she had died, but refused to reveal the details of the conversation.

"She said something to me on the joint statement and I will tell the police. It is only fair to her and Shashi Tharoor and to the investigation that I inform the police about it," she told CNN-IBN.

Tharoor, who has reportedly gone to complete the last rites for his wife has written to Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde seeking that the probe into the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar be expedited.

8:35 am: Journalist Nalini Singh says she spoke with Sunanda, to give details to cops

Veteran journalist Nalini Singh has said that she had spoken to Sunanda Pushkar in the early hours of the day that she passed away. However, she has refused to reveal the details of the conversation and said that she will tell it only to the police.

"She said something to me on the joint statement and I will tell the police. It is only fair to her and Shashi Tharoor and to the investigation that I inform the police about it," she told CNN-IBN.

She did however reveal some details about the last conversation with Sunanda when asked if she was depressed.

"She (Sunanda) sensed that things were going wrong and she couldn't cope with that and Mehr Tarar was one of the persons who had stepped into the perception of her marriage," she said.

08:30 am: Shashi Tharoor to be questioned today

The minister of state for human resources development Shashi Tharoor is to be questioned by the Delhi Police tomorrow, reported CNN-IBN.

The minister is presently in Haridwar to complete the last rites of Sunanda Pushkar and will return only tomorrow.

This comes in light of the AIIMS doctors who conducted the autopsy on Sunanda Pushkar's concluding in a preliminary report that she has died an unnatural, sudden death.

The doctors have also sent samples for toxicological analysis to rule out poisoning.

There were, however, certain injuries on her body, but the nature of those injuries cannot yet be revealed, AIIMS doctors have said.

"We will conclude our report in a couple of days.. have preserved samples including that of the heart for testing," Dr Sudhir Gupta told reporters.

Tharoor was the person to find his wife's body and is likely to be questioned about the circumstances under which the body was found. The police are also likely to question him about the days leading up to his wife's death.

3.40 pm: Kerala leaders throng Tharoor's residence

Latest to arrive at Union Minister Shashi Tharoor's residence is Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien. So far those arriving to pay respects have mostly been ministers, MPs and Congress leaders from Kerala, Tharoor's home state.

3.30 pm: Vayalar Ravi reaches Tharoor's residence

Union Minister for Overseas Affairs Vayalar Ravi, who is also an MP from Kerala, has arrived at Tharoor's official residence to offer his condolence to his ministerial colleague.

3.10 pm: Sunanda's body leaves AIIMS, funeral this evening

The body of Sunanda Tharoor has left AIIMS for Shashi Tharoor's residence post which it will be taken to Lodhi Road crematorium where the last rites will be performed.

The cremation is likely to take place post 4.30 pm this evening, an official in Tharoor's office told CNN-IBN.

2.30 pm: Sunanda died a sudden, unnatural death, say doctors

Doctors who conducted the autopsy on Sunanda Pushkar's body have, in a preliminary report, said that she has died an unnatural, sudden death, CNN-IBN reported.

They have also sent samples for toxicological analysis to rule out poisoning. There were, however, certain injuries on her body, but the nature of those injuries cannot yet be revealed, AIIMS doctors have said.

"We will conclude our report in a couple of days.. have preserved samples including that of the heart for testing," Dr Sudhir Gupta told reporters.

Meanwhile, Abhinav Kumar, PS to Shashi Tharoor told Firstpost that the body of Sunanda will be handed over to the family soon post which her last rites will be conducted.

"We will be getting the body of madam in the next half- an- hour to 45 minutes, once the post mortem has been concluded. We will then be taking the remains home and proceeding for the cremation at Lodhi road crematorium. The cremation will be after 4 pm."

A complete report is expected in the next two to three days.

1.42 pm: Media barred from entering Hotel Leela Palace

Members of the media were not allowed to enter Hotel Leela Palace, where the body of Sunanda Tharoor was found on Friday night, our Delhi correspondent reports.

Guards have been stationed at the entrance of the five star hotel and the management has refused to make a statement on the incident.

1.20 pm: Shashi Tharoor to be questioned post Sunanda's funeral

Union Minister Shashi Tharoor will be officially questioned by a magistrate after the funeral of Sunanda Tharoor which is likely to take place at 4 pm this evening.

Tharoor, who himself underwent a minor cardiac event early this morning, was the first to spot the body of Sunanda at the Leela Hotel in New Delhi.

The post-mortem is currently underway and the report is expected to be submitted to the SDM by around 3 pm this evening.

1.05 pm: Sunanda's funeral to be held today at 4 pm

Union Minister Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda's funeral will be held today at 4 pm at Lodhi road crematorium, CNN-IBN reported.

The post-mortem is likely to be concluded by 2 pm and the body will be handed over to the family by around 3 pm this evening.

12.15 pm: Post-mortem on Sunanda Tharoor begins at AIIMS

A three-member medical board of AIIMS has begun the post mortem on Sunanda Tharoor's body, PTI reported. The whole process will be videographed. The process is expected to be completed by 2 pm post which it will be submitted to the SDM.

Dr Sudhir Gupta, Head of the Forensic Sciences Department said the post-mortem will take at least two hours and after that the findings will be scrutinised and, if needed to be shared, will be given to the media.

While prima-facie the police had said there were no external injuries to her body, police sources have told news channels that Sunanda could have committed suicide.

11.50 am: Sunanda had no life threatening disease, says KIMS hospital

Dr Vijayraghavan, Vice Chairman of KIMS Hospital where Sunanda was being treated, has said that Sunanda Tharoor did not suffer from any life threatening disease.

"There was no life threatening disease to Sunanda... she attended a function after being discharged from the hospital," the doctor told CNN-IBN.

11.10 am: Three-member medical board to conduct autopsy on Sunanda's body

A three-member board of doctors will conduct the post mortem of Sunanda Tharoor, AIIMS Head of Autopsy Board Dr Sudhir Gupta told reporters this morning.

According to NDTV, the autopsy process will be videographed as well as photographed.

Sunanda's body has been shifted to AIIMS and the post mortem is likely to be conducted after a clearance by investigating authorities.

10.50 am: Shashi Tharoor discharged from AIIMS

Union Minister Shashi Tharoor has been discharged from AIIMS after he spent the night in hospital following a minor 'cardiac event'.

Tharoor was rushed to AIIMS at 2 am after he complained of chest pain and uneasiness. He was in the ICU of the cardiac centre where medical checks were conducted on him.

09.20 am: Shashi Tharoor admitted to AIIMS hospital after 'cardiac event'

Union Minister Shashi Tharoor has reportedly been admitted to the ICU of AIIMS in New Delhi after he suffered a 'cardiac event', AIIMS Medical Superintendent DK Sharma told CNN-IBN.

He had been taken to the cardiology department of the hospital late last night following the death of his wife and has now been shifted to a private ward.

Tharoor had last night complained of chest pain following which he was taken to the hospital.

08.55 am: 'Sunanda had not eaten for past two days, took sleeping pills'

The Delhi Police on Friday night questioned Minister Shashi Tharoor, his driver as well as his personal assistant, and their statements were recorded by the sub-divisonal magistrate. her post mortem will be conducted today.

According to the Hindustan Times, the minister's staff reportedly told the SDM that Sunanda had not eaten for the past two days and was smoking, consuming alcohol and taking sleeping pills.

Police sources further told the daily that they were looking at all possible angles including a heart attack and drug overdose.

A SDM level/ inquest enquiry has been ordered under Section 176 as her marriage with Shashi Tharoor was less than seven years old. Delhi Police refused to elaborate saying it is waiting for the SDM to submit a report on the case. The post-mortem will be most likely be done at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

08.35 am: Sunanda was allergic to dust, paint, so moved into hotel

Sunanda and Shashi Tharoor had checked into the Leela Hotel on Thursday as their home was being painted. Sunanda was reportedly allergic to paint and dust and therefore checked into the hotel on her return from Kerala on Thursday. The couple were due to check out on Saturday morning, The Indian Express reported.

According to a report in the Hindustan Times, police officials have said that the couple had checked into two separate suites - 342 and 345.

08.11 am: Autopsy likely to be conducted at AIIMS today

The body of Sunanda Tharoor has been kept at AIIMS in New Delhi where a post mortem is likely to be conducted after orders from the magistrate.

Dr Sudhir Gupta, head of forensic sciences at AIIMS, speaking to the Times of India, said the body would be kept at the department and viscera preserved. "Postmortem will be conducted after inquest orders from the magistrate," he said.

07.35 am: Hotel staff quizzed, Police checking Sunanda's call details

Police investigating Sunanda Pushkar's death on Friday night questioned a number of hotel staff and checked the CCTV footage of the lobby of the third floor of the luxury hotel where she was staying.

Sources in the police said call details record of Pushkar were also being checked as part of the probe into her death.

07.00 am: President condoles death of Sunanda Pushkar

President Pranab Mukherjee spoke to Union Minister Shashi Tharoor and condoled the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.

An official spokesperson of Rashtrapati Bhavan said the President called Tharoor and conveyed his condolences.

The SDM is right now in the process of taking Shashi Tharoor's statement as he begun his inquiry. The floor of Pushka's room has been declared as a crime scene.

Pushkar's iPhone and iPad have been seized for investigation by the forensic team.
