Ranchi: The Jharkhand government on Monday decided to provide Rs five crore as relief for flood-affected Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the relief fund after flagging off three trucks carrying 40,000 blankets for the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
He also appealed to the government employees to donate a day's salary for the relief work in the state which witnessed the worst floods in more than a century.
"I appeal to the government employees to donate a day's salary for the victims of the furious calamity," an official release said quoting Soren.
He also appealed to everyone to come forward with assistance as per their capability.
