The Indian government has taken several steps to prevent infiltration and secure its borders with Myanmar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.
In an interview with Assam Tribune, the Prime Minister said, “The Government of India has started construction of fencing and feasible patches along the Indo-Myanmar Border.”
Steps taken by India to prevent infiltration in Mizoram
The prime minister listed the steps taken by the Indian government to prevent infiltration and secure Indian borders with Myanmar.

4- Construction of fencing on feasible patches along the Indo-Myanmar Border.
On February 6, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the border between India and Myanmar would be fenced on the lines of the border with Bangladesh. The Centre also scrapped the Free Movement Regime (FMR).
However, the government in Mizoram does not want the fencing of the India-Myanmar border and on February 28, the state Assembly adopted a resolution against the Central government’s decision to fence the border with the neighbouring nation.
The resolution, moved by Mizoram Home Minister K Sapdanga, urged the government to instead take steps to ensure that Zo ethnic people, “who have been divided in different countries, are unified under one administrative unit”.
