In Bihar, fake affidavit in Modi's name to get power connection
Authorities in Muzaffarpur district were surprised when they found the affidavit in Modi's name for an electricity connection.

Patna: A fake affidavit was issued in the name of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Bihar for getting an electricity connection, officials said Saturday.
Authorities in Muzaffarpur district were surprised when they found the affidavit in Modi's name for an electricity connection.
"It was unbelievable that Modi applied for a new electricity connection but it was found to be a fake affidavit," a district official said.
Modi's permanent address on the affidavit was given as Vadnagar in Mehsana district of Gujarat. His father name was given as Damodar Das Mulchand Modi and mother's name as Hireben.
His temporary address was given as Berhampura in Muzaffarpur, about 70 km from Patna.
Officials said the fake affidavit was issued by notary Anjani Kumar of Muzaffarpur civil court Dec 12, 2013.
Public prosecutor Sangita Shahi confirmed the issuance of the fake affidavit. "It has exposed the racket of issuing fake affidavits in anyone's name," she said.
In the 1990s, a fake driving license was issued in the name of Tamil Tigers chief V. Prabhakaran. It was followed by another fake license issued in the name of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in Saran district in 2009.
