Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar's 'flying squad' makes 355 arrests in surprise raids

Chandigarh: A special team of the Haryana chief minister's flying squad has raided 750 places, registered 384 cases and arrested 355 persons at various locations during last three days.

During the raids, 56 cases of electricity theft were detected and 11 doctors were found practising without documents, Inspector General of Police, CID, Anil Kumar Rao said on Thursday.

He said that the drive was conducted to check the manufacture of adulterated and spurious products, illicit liquor and against those indulging in other unauthorised acts.

Rao said that during the raids, adulterated ghee, palm, mustard and soya oil with an estimated value of Rs 7.50 crore was recovered and 515 LPG cylinders were seized.

Similarly, 1,44,758 bottles of illicit liquor, including Indian made foreign liquor, country liquor and beer were recovered.

He said that 255 vehicles were impounded. One government employee was also arrested and FIRs have been lodged against 14 others, he said.
