After Chandigarh stalking, now 22-year-old Gurugram executive chased for three km by men in car

Just days after a woman was stalked in Chandigarh, an IT executive in Gurugram was stalked on Sunday night, NDTV  reported.

The victim,  22, who was making her way home on her scooter, was reportedly chased for three kilometres by two men in a car. The men also reportedly passed lewd comments.

An FIR was filed at the Sector 14 police station under Section 354-D (stalking) of the Indian Penal Code, according to a report in Hindustan Times. The FIR said that the incident took place around 11:45 pm, when the victim was headed home on her scooter.  The men attempted to stop her twice but she escaped by getting into a narrow lane, according to the report.

The victim jotted down the car's registration number. The police are tracing its owner.

The Hindustan Times report quotes assistant sub-inspector Duli Chand as saying, "We are investigating the case. We are trying to get information from the RTO regarding the vehicle registration number that she provided."

This incident comes just days after two people were arrested for allegedly stalking a woman in Chandigarh.

The woman, Varnika Kundu has accused Vikas Barala — son of Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala — and his friend Ashish Kumar of stalking her.

The police later added two new charges against Vikas — under Sections 365 and 511 (Attempt to abduct with intent to wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused will be produced in court on Thursday.

Director General of Police Tejinder Luthria said that they will ask the court to allow them to take the accused into police custody.
