Five people, including an 82-year-old woman, murdered in Delhi; police suspect property dispute

Four women members of a family, along with a security guard, were found murdered in East Delhi's Mansarovar Park on Saturday, said news reports.

After the police control room was informed of the murder at around 7.15 am on Saturday, police officials rushed to spot and are investigating the case, a CNN News18 report noted.

The deceased have been identified as 82-year-old Urmila Jindal, and her daughters Sangeeta, 56, Nupur, 48, and Anjali, 38. The guard has been identified as Rakesh, 42, IANS reported.  The Times of India reported that police investigation revealed stab injured on the bodies.

The CNN News18 report quoted police officials as claiming that the accused may have been known to the victims. While reports claimed that the murder may be linked to a possible property dispute, The Times of India report noted that the police is still interrogating the family members to understand the possible reasons behind the killings.

Preliminary investigation showed there was "no forced entry" into the house and no valuables were stolen, a police officer said.
