Don't dare spill it! Water from Beverly Hills now comes in a diamond capped bottle, and it costs just Rs 65 lakh

A beverage company in California has taken the 'water is precious' proverb too seriously. Water, world's most basic commodity, is all set to enter the Indian market in mid-2018 with a price tag of Rs 65 lakh for a litre.

The Beverly Hills Drink Company is offering a special edition of bottled water called the 'Diamond Edition of the Luxury Collection of Beverly Hills 9OH2O' to be availed in an exquisite bottle featuring a white gold cap set with over 600 G/VS white diamonds and over 250 black diamonds(worth 14 carats). The bottle has been designed by a renowned jewelry designer.

According to Money Control, each bottle comes in a custom secured presentation case together with four engraved Baccarat crystal tumblers, and it is presented in person by famed water sommelier Martin Riese at a private water tasting anywhere in the world.

The report further added that the Diamond Edition package also includes a one-year supply of the Lifestyle Collection of Beverly Hills 9OH2O.

However, don't get disheartened if you cannot afford the diamond edition, the company is also set to introduce four other sub products —one-litre bottle in still, one-litre pack in sparkling and 500mL packs in still and sparkling, respectively.

These bottled waters primarily targeted at luxury hotels, restaurants and nightclubs under this will be priced under $12 (Rs 800) for a litre.

They have another segment called Beverly Hills 9OH2O Lifestyle Collection that is targeted at hotels, cafés, markets, spas, and more, and also comes in the still and sparkling category. A 500ml bottle in the category comes for close to Rs 100.

Jon Gluck, co-founder, and president, Beverly Hills Drink Company on being asked about the success of this product in a country like India, responded confidently, "We expect Beverly Hills 9OH2O to do extremely well in India’s large and fast-growing high-end market, and we very much look forward to launching the world’s finest water in India soon.”

He further added that the main target segments are teetotalers who enjoy this 'beautiful and great-tasting non-alcoholic beverage' that can be enjoyed in alongside wines, champagnes, and other alcoholic beverages.
