Delhi: Class 12 student commits suicide over stalking; police launches probe

A Class 12 student allegedly committed suicide in Delhi’s Bakhtawar Pur area over stalking by a neighbour, according to several media reports.

The accused, 20-year-old Mayank, would often stalk the girl who was a resident of Bakhtawar Pur and upon objecting, the accused threatened to kill her parents,  Zee News reported.   “The police has launched an investigation into the case. Efforts are on to arrest accused,” said DCP Rohini, according to the Zee News report. A case has been registered under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act, ANI  further reported.
