The injured, engaged in construction work of a bridge at Sawombug village in Imphal East district were seriously injured when the bomb exploded, police said on Friday.
The injured masons identified as Jabikal Islam (25) and Jahrudin (30), both hailing from Assam, were hospitalised.
The bomb was suspected to be an improvised explosive device (IED), the police said.
No one was arrested so far.
Search operations continued during the night and engineering equipment, including bulldozers has been pressed into service for creating access to the incident site and to help in the rescue efforts
