Bomb blast near Imphal, Manipur injures two people

Imphal: Two persons were injured seriously when a bomb exploded near Imphal, police said on Friday.

The injured, engaged in construction work of a bridge at Sawombug village in Imphal East district were seriously injured when the bomb exploded, police said on Friday.

The injured masons identified as Jabikal Islam (25) and Jahrudin (30), both hailing from Assam, were hospitalised.

The bomb was suspected to be an improvised explosive device (IED), the police said.

No one was arrested so far.
