Bhiwandi building collapse: Two killed, four rescued, many trapped under debris

A two-storey collapsed in Bhiwandi and at-least 7-8 people including two children are trapped under the debris. According to latest reports two people are killed and four people are rescued from the debris. Reportedly this is the second such accident in the district this week.

Fire tenders have rushed to the spot and are trying to help the people, who are trapped under the rubble. The NDRF has also rushed to the site to help with the rescue process.

According to a report by the Hindustan Times, the building is in the Navin Taneri area besides Vinod Dying Company. The incident happened on Sunday morning at around 7.30 am.

A public relation officer of Bhiwandi was quoted saying that the building had three families residing there including the owner of the building. The officer mentioned that the structure of the building was in a dangerous condition and the families had been given eviction notices, but they continued to reside there.

On 31 July eight people had died when a three-storey building had collapsed in JB Nagar.
