'Beyond logic and facts': Court throws out case seeking to prosecute Lord Rama for banishing Sita

Sitamarhi: A district court has dismissed a petition seeking registration of a case against Lord Rama and his brother Laxmana over banishing goddess Sita to exile in a forest, saying the issue is "beyond logic and facts".

Sitamarhi Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Rash Bihari on Monday rejected as "not maintainable" the petition by advocate Chandan Kumar Singh, against whom three complaint cases have been filed in another court for his alleged "defamatory" act against the Hindu god.

Singh in his writ filed on Saturday last had sought the court's intervention for registration of a case against Lord Rama and Laxmana for allegedly banishing goddess Sita to exile "without any proper justification".

The CJM court quashed the complaint saying it was not maintainable. The court found that the issue was "beyond logic and facts" and dismissed it.

According to mythology, goddess Sita was born in Sitamarhi.

Meanwhile, three complaint cases have been filed in the CJM court against Chandan Kumar Singh for his "defamatory" act against the Almighty.

The CJM transferred these complaints to another court for hearing after admitting them.

Meanwhile, the petitioner Chandan Kumar Singh said on Tuesday that he has been receiving threatening calls from right wing organisations for filing complaint against the Hindu god. He said he is going to approach Superintendent of Police Hari Prasad Sah for security in view of threat calls.
