Aurangabad (Maharashtra): A major fire broke out in a temporary firecrackers market and destroyed over 200 big and small shops on Saturday morning, officials said.
There were no human casualties as all the shopkeepers and customers managed to escape to safety.
However, at least a dozen four-wheelers and more than two dozen two-wheelers parked in the vicinity were engulfed in the blaze and destroyed.
The blaze, the cause of which is not known, was brought under control in an hour.
The death toll went up by 49 to 1,39,670 on Wednesday, while the state had reported 43 and 36 fatalities on Tuesday and Monday respectively.
