AIIMS MBBS 2019 basic registration ends today; visit to apply for exam

The basic registration process for the AIIMS MBBS entrance exam, which began on 30 November, 2018, will conclude on Thursday.

The status of the candidates' application (Accepted or Not Accepted) will be updated on the AIIMS website on 7 January. Any discrepancies in the registration form that are not accepted can be corrected between 8 and 18 Janauary.

How to register for the AIIMS MBBS entrance exam 2019:

— Visit and click on "Academic Courses" tab

— Click on the arrow that says "Basic Registration for Undergraduate Courses"

— Enter the required details

— After generating your registration ID and password, use them to log in from the Applicant Login Zone.

— After signing in, upload digital copies of photograph, signature and thumb impression. The images will be scrutinised for quality and adherence to instructions. It may take up to 7-10 days for this process to complete, depending upon the number of applicants. Candidates should regularly check the status of their application.

— Print the registration form

This year, AIIMS has decided to adopt a two-stage registration process for the exams. Candidates need to complete a basic registration six months before the exam, after which a final registration is to be completed a few months before the exam.

The exam will be held for admission in MBBS courses for AIIMS New Delhi, Bathinda, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Deogarh, Gorakhpur, Jodhpur, Kalyani, Mangalagiri, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, Rae Bareli, Rishikesh and Telangana campuses.

The candidates who have passed class 12 examination or its equivalent, or are appearing in the same, may apply. The candidates should have compulsorily studied subjects including English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and scored a minimum 60 percent marks (50 percent for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates) in aggregate.

The exam pattern of AIIMS MBBS 2019 includes 60 questions each for Chemistry, Physics and Biology, 10 questions under aptitude and 10 under logical thinking.

The exam taken by more than 2.5 lakh medical aspirants annually, and is one of the biggest exams in the nation after the NTA supervised NEET examination.
