And once again this is our selection of the most interesting comments and feedback we received over the day. As always we thank you for taking the time to stop by and let us know your views on what we have posted. And thank you for continuous feedback! Rahul pohare So the fact that he has built so many great sides time and again elevates him to the highest perch (pun intended). And just taking a look at the no. of his ex-players who have become successful managers today shows that this man is not just a manager but an institution in himself. Posted on The gum-chewing master of Red Devils inspires awe Sanjay Malhotra Eternal vigilance is of extreme importance for us as a Nation. But it is also as important that we as a Nation send out a message to all and sundry that we are no door-mat!!. In case of any misadventures from across the Borders ,overt or surrogate, we should be ready to call the Pakistani bluff and take appropriate military action; Diplomacy alone is not enough as we have seen thus far. Posted on India must now be on guard against Pak jihadi raid MA Good that you wrote “If other political parties are whining, it is because they have lost out to the Congress scion in the battle for the eyeballs.” But tell me one thing, You have space for Rahul Gandhi, Kareena Kapur and Dinner Plan on FirstPage but farmers are no where to be seen? I tried to search for an article on “Land Acquisition Act” on this website and found “None”. What is stopping you from doing what is right? Posted on Rahul’s farce hogs spotlight, farmers pushed into background Rashmi Really don’t know where I said atheism is a religion rather its anything but religion. I guess its also rather easy to understand the argument that as long as believers do not impose their values on atheist, atheist should not have any trouble with whatever the believers do. What’s the harm in having a ritual or two. Is it in any way compromising the quality of the satellite or for that matter giving ISRO a reputation of being a scientific institution only welcoming the God fearing, ritual performing scientist. I don’t think so. Nor such a practice in any way marginalises the atheist or the non-Hindus. Lots of offices in India have X’mas trees adoring their corridors, some even go to the extending of singing carols during the festive season. This also is influenced by religious rituals. Does that make such offices Christian centric?? Posted on Hawking’s Heaven: Does atheism work better for science? Espad In retrospect, Yedyurappa was plain lucky. He became CM in 2008 when the treacherous Kumaraswamy refused to hand him power in breach of the agreement between the BJP and JD(S). In the State elections that followed, Yedyurappa got the sympathy vote and became CM - but did not get an absolute majority. Then followed the sordid drama of “Operation Lotus” where many Congress and JD(S) MLAs were “persuaded” to resign and contest bye elections on the BJP ticket. As Yedyurappa had the foresight to build his support among the Lingayat community (at 18% the largest in Karnataka), the forward castes (8%) and the SC/STs of Northern and Coastal Karnataka (20%) he had a solid base that ensured victory for the BJP in every by election to the State Assembly, the 2009 Parliamentary poll and the elections to the Zila Parishads / Panchayats. Despite this scenario Kumaraswamy weaned away 11 rebel BJP MLAs and 5 independents through blatant use of money and muscle power. Bhardwaj saw a chance to ingratiate himself with Sonia who had banished him from Delhi, and actively encouraged both JD(S) and Congress to create mayhem in the Assembly. Yet, Yedyurappa proved himself more than a match for his enemies and fought them politically and in the Courts of Law. What Bhardwaj did not realize was that the BJP was in a clear majority in the Assembly and his attempts to use the Supreme Court judgment to recommend President’s Rule would only embarrass the Congress which was fighting many more serious battles in Delhi. No wonder Bhardwaj was simply ignored. Having lost face, Bhardwaj will now lie in wait for the next opportunity to destabilize Yedyurappa’s Government. For Yedyurappa, Bhardwaj gave him a much needed boost of public sympathy as a victim of Congress enmity. Let him use this respite to adminster the State well in the remaining two years of his term.Lilly (lillyforall@yahoo.com)122.179.81.1021 hour agoYS Jagan is the most corrupt politician in India. Corrupt people like him should be ignored and defeated in the beginning itself. If he comes into power, Andhra Pradesh state will go bankrupt. Urban ppl already know about his corruption and won’t support him. People in the rural areas should be educated about his corruption so that he will never be elected again. He wants to become CM of Andhra Pradesh (God only knows how he can qualify for CM post). But he has contested in Kadapa for MP post. I don’t understand his logic. Posted on Jagan Reddy, India’s richest politician, lied to EC on assets JerryIN Trust our Home Minister to do such blunders. Perhaps he wants to blame BJP for making this list in the past.. shocking blunder. Embarassing.. He is worse than Shivraj Patil, least that guy used to look good for TV. All Mr Chidambram did was blame BJP or Mr Advani for the debacles in internal security. May be we see a shoe coming again for him… Posted on To Pak’s verbal bang-bang, India fires a dud shot Gareebkashmiri786 Glorifying ISI sponsored madness on Srinagar streets has been a favourite pastime of Kashmiri journalists. Terrorists in Kashmir have killed thousands of innocents. This year only since January 1st about 75 people have been gunned down by terrorist in Kashmir. A fascist ultra radical Mullah madness is on prowl in Kashmir with an ananashed approval by journalists like Aijaz Hussain and others. Taliban lunatics can be given benefit of ignorance but some people who write and report for media in Kashmir are deliberate share holders of Kashmir unrest. Some of them are cowards and some get blood money from across. None of them throw stones or use guns and to be dead has been left to poor illiterates. They are their to earn bucks. Posted on Respected Shobha Rani: A love letter from Kashmir Vijayendra Mohanty As for the example of “institutional religiosity” in the post, it is a matter of ritual. Rituals are a culture’s way of marking its occasions. It is for the same reason that American presidents swear by God when taking their oaths. A ritual is a mark of cultural identity. We do not live in an objective universe. Our way of interpreting it is always based on a personal bias. It is for this reason that otherwise rational people may treasure a shirt that their father left them (even though the shirt itself is nothing out of the ordinary). We are not rational beings, to expect people to work 100 per cent rationally is irrational. Vulcan abhi door hai. :) Posted on Hawking’s Heaven: Does atheism work better for science?
