Feedback round up

Day 3 has been our busiest yet in terms of comments and feedback, and we’re glad to see that our content is sparking so much discussion and debate. Here is our daily compilation of the comments that we liked  the most. via @firstpostin @Soubhik A contemplative non-cricinfo cricket piece that isn’t hackneyed | Goodbye to metaphor: cricket is not India @nixxin Indian news publications, online or offline, should be really worried about @firstpostin . 3 good days, full of interestingness. @amithpr Today @zigzackly will be more famous among the PR frat for his sarcastic yet educative blog on @firstpostin @Saan10 TN voters are hard to understand. After all these scams, DMK suffers only a micro setback?? via Facebook: Varun Khandelwal guys…y dun u start sumthing like an anti corruption drive online..or sumthing similar…u know wat i mean.. Karthik Hariharan You know… If you explain this to those who practice female infanticide, They’d probably be worried if their sons would have any girls to marry…Not to mention, I think this is the perfect time to set the dowry system in reverse. Men pay up if you ever wanna get married to a girl!!! Kaushik Sil What about a “scammer of the year” award? Not a matter of national shame any more when public scam is the in-thing among quite a few of the heads and hobnobs. The criteria would depend on the innovation, style, mystery-factor and valuation of the bounty. The idea is to give them due credit, help them to come overt under broad daylight without any fear. Any thoughts? On articles: Sanjay Malhotra In my opinion the main issue with the USA is that it often seen to be failing to strongly back its true friends in the International Community in their hour of need. One understands that in International relations there are no permanent friends or enemies just paramount National Interests but then durability of friendship too has its own place. This could be because the US often fails to recognise its true friends in the first place or even worse sacrifices the same at the altar of short term expediency. Otherwise how does one explain the fact that the US continues to molly-coddle Pakistan where it is most hated among the common populace and often tends to give second place to India’s interests where, interestingly, there is a huge groundswell of support for it among a vast majority of the population. Posted on Explosive: Hillary Clinton says China’s regime will collapse OnlyIndia There need to be rectification. Sikh have suffered massacre in 1984 and leaded by known political leaders as you mentioned. Ironically the major massacre was in the capital of the worlds largest democracy called India. Those innocent indian minority citizens have same right for justice as any other Indians. Posted on Three-peat: India on US religious freedom ‘Watch List for 2011′ Mark this is bad.. delayed justice is injustice.. Posted on Bhopal tragedy: The long wait for justice begins, again Saldkj Recently I was in Madurai.. I heard one of parties was able to afford a 500 while the ruling offered 100!! I wish this time each party gets 20 seats.. then they will spend all they earn on buying each other out Posted on Money, money: TN poll was all about buying your vote SK Key Takeaways of Exit poll Tamilnadu (1) corruption is an issue which has swung the voting preferences (2)Jaya is perceived less corrupt than Karuna by a huge margin (3) 2 percent vote difference is too narrow for any meaningful prediction. But considering C Voter also predicted a sweep, one can infer that advantage is with AIADMK (4) As predicted congress is a big albatross and hence DMK has to win 80 percent of seats to reach 115. (5) BJP vote share is around 3-5 percent in tamilnadu. In future it would be courted for alliance (6) As far as Tamilandu goes the momentum seems to be with AIADMK (7) Yadav did not mention sampling error unless it is already factored in the results (8) Results show AIADMK leader’s campaign rhetoric has worked and Vijaykant has been a reliable partner (9) Iam more confident in awaiting the Friday results than before Posted on Money, money: TN poll was all about buying your vote pvk1103 It makes me wonder why the selectors won’t pick a bowler as coach. For two reasons, 1.Do we really want a batting coach considering the talent we have got.Add to that, the legends we have Sachin,& co,it makes it even more worthless 2.Our bowling has been our weakness from a long time.So why can’t we have a bowling coach which would help us in the longer term too. Posted on Where are the bowlers for the WI tour? Aritro Communism is as utopic an idea as a moral India. The state that was WB has been stabbed in the groin many times over, or so it seems. After 34 years of hegemony we, the people of WB sure do need a change of winds in our collective sail. The soon-to-be-former incumbent Government have been pathetic in handling sensitive issues. The episodes precipitating in the debacles of SIngur, Nandigram and Netai were long in the making. As is the perception, CPM and its allies are nothing short of internally-feuding fiefs. All of the above are true. Just remains to be seen if Mamata and her band of morallyand ideologically disparate serfs would be able to serve us better. Communism in WB and for that India is doomed. But my blood, guys, will always be a rousing RED. Liberte. Egalite. Fraternite. Posted on Mamata bandwagon set to destroy Red Fort in Bengal Vikas kukreja nice data…some hope from nature not ppl Posted on Kill the girl child. let the woman live 49mukul With internet and social networking growing we are facing the same questions as during the advent of television. Parents cannot prevent or stop children(including teenagers) from using internet. However they need to develop that culture within the house to prevent children from the ill effects of internet. Posted on Too young for Facebook! 7.5 million users not even teens Akshay Yes, the debacle exists not only on Facebook, but many other sites which can be more harmful. In the case of facebook or any social networking site, the Govt should have a policy where in it says the cut-off age for registering or having an account on such all such sites is say for eg: 15 yrs. Now, for registering on such a site it can say a PAN card number is a must. So, in a way it will lead to PAN card registrations–which should be allotted to only above 15yrs of age–for getting an account. It can also be linked to any other thing where the Govt wants more participation and can implement a cut-off age limit. Just an out of a box idea, which of course needs more thinking and tinkering. Posted on Too young for Facebook! 7.5 million users not even teens TopCat When US President Barack Obama made a recent speech at the White House Correspondents’ dinner (at which it is customary to make fun of himself and others), he said that he wanted to put an end to the manufactured right-wing controversy over his birth - and that he planned to show the video of his birth. He then played a clip from the Lion King when the young lion cub is born. It raised a good laugh. But then he pointedly called out the Fox News table and said: “To the guys at the Fox News Cable, this is a joke. This is not the real video of my birth.” The reaction of some readers here too reminds me of that. Have all of you guys responding in hatred and anger to what is clearly a non-serious article lost the power of discrimination between what’s serious and what’s not? Have we Indians become completely humorless? Perhaps next you’ll want flash cards - of the sorts they have in TV studios - saying when to laugh and when to clap. Grow up, people. It’’s okay to laugh once in a while. Posted on How the Ayodhya dispute can be solved. Permanently.
