Will call Modi's bluff during the Gujarat polls: Cong

New Delhi: Hitting out at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Congress today described the Assembly elections in the state as an opportunity to “call the bluff” of those who have banked upon their own version of “hate politics” and taken people “for a ride” on development issue. In the latest issue of its mouthpiece “Congress Sandesh”, the party also said Gujarat has always been a frontline state due to strong foundations provided by earlier Congress governments and the enterprising nature of the people there. Agencies.[/caption] “Now we are in the midst of elections in Gujarat. This is an opportunity to call the bluff of those who have banked upon their own version of state politics and taken the people of the state for a ride on developmental issues… “The peculiar brand of divisive politics that has been practiced there in recent times under the current leadership of the BJP has inflicted incalculable harm to its social fabric,” it said. Asking partymen to fight this challenge with a sense of purpose and unity of action, the editorial in the party mouthpiece also said the gathering at party’s national rally at Ramlila Maidan on November 4 was a befitting reply to the “malicious propaganda” unleashed by “vested interests whose only motive is to grab power at any cost”.
