Yeddyurappa moves High Court seeking bail

Bangalore: Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, who has been remanded to judicial custody till 22 October by a Special Lokayukta Court in alleged land scam cases, moved the High Court today seeking bail. A memo to this effect was filed by senior counsel Jayakumar S Patil before Justice BV Pinto praying for posting it for tomorrow. 68-year-old Yeddyurappa is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of a city hospital. Facing imminent arrest, Yeddyurappa surrendered before the Lokayukta Court on Saturday after it rejected his bail application.He was taken to Parappana Agrahara central prison. PTI”]  [/caption] At around 1.40 AM on Sunday, the BJP leader, largely credited with installing the first party government in south India in 2008, complained of discomfort in the chest, and was shifted to the state-run Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research. Yeddyurappa, who is under observation in the intensive care unit of the hospital, has undergone blood tests, ECG and echo. A chronic diabetic and hypertension patient, he underwent ‘stress nuclear scan’ one-and-half months ago. The Lokyukta court issued an arrest warrant against Yeddyurappa in two of the five corruption cases pertaining to denotification of lands in the  multi-crore land scam in which he is the prime accused.
