Woman stabbed to death in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 15 (IANS) A 25-year-old married woman working in a multinational company in Noida was stabbed to death by two people here while she was returning home, police said Saturday.

The accused have been identified but are absconding.

"Simranjeet Kaur was returning home when two men attacked her with a meat cleaver near Karol Bagh Metro Station Friday night," a police officer said.

After stabbing her, the attackers fled from the scene leaving behind the weapon, the officer added.

Kaur was taken to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead. She received two deep wounds on chest and shoulder.

Police said the men have been identified on the basis of a CCTV footage installed near the Metro station.

The woman got married a year back.

"The motive behind the murder was not yet clear but we are investigating the case from all possible angles," Joint Commissioner of police Sandeep Goel told IANS.
