New York: The next court hearing in the sexual assault case against former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been postponed until 23 August. Strauss-Kahn, 64, who allegedly forced Nafissatou Diallo, a 32-year-old hotel maid, to perform oral sex, was taken into custody a few minutes before his flight departed for Paris on 14 May. “We have consented to a postponement of the status hearing before Judge Obus from August 1 to August 23,” said a statement from Wlliam J Taylor and Benjamin Braffman, Strauss-Kahn’s lawyers yesterday.

Diallo, who has recently broken her silence, has said that she wanted the former chief of the IMF to face trial.  “I want justice. I want him to go to jail,” she told ABC." But sources say that Diallo may have ruined her case as there are now more conflicting versions of what happened on 14 May. “There’s so many inconsistencies now it’s incredible,” one source, told The New York Post. “Its like multiple choice–pick a version.” One discrepancy, the source, told The Post that in an earlier account Diallo said that she and Strauss-Kahn did not speak, but in the interviews she recalled, he said, “You’re not going to lose your job.” PTI
