SP seeks arrest of Union ministers over Rahul's rally scuffle

Allahabad: Four Samajwadi Party youth wing supporters, who were allegedly thrashed by SPG personnel and Congress leaders at the venue of Rahul Gandhi’s rally in Phulpur on Monday before being arrested, were today released after furnishing personal bonds. One of them lodged a complaint demanding the arrest of two union ministers and one member each of the state legislative assembly and legislative council. PTI”] [/caption] Soon after his release, Abhishek Yadav who was apprehended along with his associates running towards Gandhi’s helicopter, returned to the Jhusi police station, where he was detained, and lodged a complaint against Union ministers Jitin Prasada and RPN Singh, Congress Legislature Party leader in Uttar Pradesh assembly Pramod Tiwari and party MLC Naseeb Pathan, police said. In his complaint, Yadav alleged he was assaulted by the Congress leaders in full public glare and hence a case be registered against them under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Later, a delegation of Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha, led by its district unit president Ravindra Yadav, met the Inspector General of Police of Allahabad, BP Jogdand, and submitted a memorandum demanding lodging of an FIR against the Congress leaders named in the complaint lodged at Jhusi police station. No FIR has been lodged on the basis of the complaint so far, police added. PTI
