Soldier shoots self to death in Jammu, case filed

Jammu: An army jawan was among two persons who allegedly committed suicide in Jammu and Kashmir today.

Sepoy Jitender Rathore of 19 Armoured Regiment shot himself dead with his INSAS service rifle after his duty at Chatta army cantonment in Jammu city around 0430 hours today, a police officer said.

He died on the spot and was shifted to GMC hospital for post mortem, he said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.

Rathore belongs to Faridabad in Haryana.

In another such incident, 42-year-old Bashir Ahmed Gujjar was found hanging at his house in Kote Bag belt of Mahore tehsil in Reasi district around 8.15am today, he said.
