London: The days of swatting flies seem to be over. A man has created a shotgun that uses nothing more than common salt to blast the pesky insects.
Lorenzo Maggiore is using fundraising site IndieGoGo to get fly shotgun “BugASalt” on the market, the Daily Mail reported.
The water-pistol-like weapon uses just salt, and is harmless against people.

But for flies, the attack is deadly, the daily said.
Maggiore originally asked for $15,000 to bring his creation to life, but fans on the website have so far raised $62,000, with 45 days left before the fundraising drive ends.
Pre-orders for the gun start at $30.
