Tremors of magnitude 5.8 on the Richter scale with its epicentre in the Nicobar Islands region struck the Indian Ocean today but no tsunami warning was issued and no damage to life and property were reported. The agency classified the tremors to be of moderate intensity. No tsunami warning was issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre following the tremors.
