Punjab announces 7-day state mourning for IK Gujral

Punjab announces 7-day state mourning for IK Gujral

Chandigarh: The Punjab government announced a seven-day state mourning in the honour of former Prime Minister Inder Kumar Gujral who passed away in New Delhi today after prolonged illness.

All the schools, colleges and educational institutions would remain closed on Saturday as a mark of respect to the departed leader and the national flag would fly at half mast in all government buildings, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said.

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has left for New Delhi to offer his condolences to the bereaved family.
