Praveen fined 20% of match fee for arguing with umpire

The charge relates to an incident at the end of the 18th over of the day during which Praveen had an LBW appeal against England’s Kevin Pietersen turned down.

Praveen fined 20% of match fee for arguing with umpire

Nottingham: India pacer Praveen Kumar has been fined 20 percent of his match fee for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during England’s first innings on the opening day of the second Test at Trent Bridge here on Friday. After conclusion of the day’s play, Praveen admitted the offence and accepted the proposed sanction offered to him by ICC match referre Ranjan Madugalle. The charge had been laid by the on-field umpires Asad Rauf and Marais Erasmus and third umpire Billy Bowden as well as fourth umpire Tim Robinson. The charge relates to an incident at the end of the 18th over of the day during which Praveen had an LBW appeal against England Kevin Pietersen turned down and at the end of the over, he then engaged in a debate with umpire Erasmus about the decision.
