Those who've looted the country, now oppose development: Modi

Ahmedabad: In a veiled attack on Congress, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi today said, those who have been “looting the treasury” for the last 40-50 years," are now opposing the development works. “Those who have been looting the treasury for the last 40-50 years for vote bank politics, on what grounds are they now opposing the fund utilisation for development works meant to serve public interest?” Modi asked. He was speaking at the 24th daylong Sadhbhavana fast at Himmatnagar as part of the ‘Sadhbhavana Mission’. Addressing a gathering, Modi said that the goodwill of six crore Gujaratis has provided stability to the state. On the occasion, Modi announced a grant of Rs 2,380 crore for development projects in Sabarkantha district. He said that the government has given an in-principle approval to a Rs 225 crore project for developing a medical college-cum-hospital complex in Himmatnagar. PTI
