Anna's close-aide contesting elections with NCP ticket

Anna Hazare’s close aide Jayasing Mapari has decided to contest the zilla parishad elections from Wadegavan constituency on behalf of the NCP. Mapari, also the sarpanch of Hazare’s native Ralegan Siddhi village, said NCP has approached him with a proposal of his candidature. The party has called for formal interviews at Ahmednagar tomorrow and the NCP district unit may recommend his name for Mapari’s candidature. Asked whether he was supporting Mapari’s choice of contesting elections on behalf of the NCP, Hazare said the gram sabha will take the decision to support. He is not personally against or for any political party, but is expecting all the parties field candidates whose background is clean and having a clear vision and understanding of social and economic development, Hazare said.
