Pakistani band Strings is back in Bollywood

New Delhi: Popular Pakistani pop rock band Strings, best known for songs like Duur and Dhaani, is set to record a song for a new Bollywood film titled John Day. Strings — which is a two-member band comprising lead vocalist Faisal Kapadia and composer-guitarist Bilal Maqsood — earlier created songs for Hindi films like Zinda and Shootout At Lokhandwala. The song for John Day will be a promotional track, said a statement. It will be filmed on actors Naseeruddin Shah and Randeep Hooda, who are back in a film after over a decade. They last shared screen space in 2001 film Monsoon Wedding". Directed by debutant Ahishor Solomon and produced by A Wednesday fame Anjum Rizvi along with K Asif, John Day is a thriller. It also features Elena Kazan, Shernaz Patel, Sharat Saxena and Vipin Sharma. The film is slated to release in summer this year. IANS
