Ottawa: Canada added 82,300 new jobs in March, bringing the country’s unemployment rate down 0.2 percentage points to 7.2 percent, Statistics Canada announced.

It was Canada’s best single month result since September following four months of little change and the number far exceeded economists’ forecast of 10,000 new positions for the past month, said the agency on thursday.
