Over 150 labourers shifted to relief camp in Manipur after regional violence

Over 150 labourers shifted to relief camp in Manipur after regional violence

Imphal: At least 168 labourers, mostly  migrant daily wage earners, are currently staying at a relief camp here following the killing of nine non-Manipuri workers last week, police said today.

These labourers had been brought from different parts of Imphal west, Imphal east, Thoubal and Bishenpur districts and were staying here under police protection, they said.

Nine persons were killed and 12 others got injured when suspected militants exploded a bomb in a migrant labour camp in Nagamapal area in Imphal West district on September 13.
