Los Angeles: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has selected eight films in the Documentary Short category out of 40 entries.

Out of these eight movies, three to five will earn Oscar nominations. The eight films that are going to compete are CaveDigger, Facing Fear, Jujitsu-ing Reality, Karama Has No Walls, The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life, Prison Terminal: The Last Days of Private Jack Hall, Recollections and SLOMO.

Academy awards will take place on March 2, 2014 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.
