Washington: Pakistan’s new Ambassador to the US Sherry Rehman has presented her credentials to US President Barack Obama at his Oval Office in the White House. Politician-turned-diplomat Rehman was accompanied by her husband Nadeem Hussain, a banker, and her daughter during the ceremony held at the White House last afternoon. Rahman replaces Husain Haqqani, who resigned after his name appeared in the memogate scandal that has rocked Pakistan’s domestic political set up. We want to get back to the full range of business together, and we want to do that as soon as the Pakistani side is fully ready to have those conversations with us,” Nuland said. This was the message that was conveyed to Rehman when she met Secretary of State Hillary Clinton last week. “I would guess that the White House will speak about this as well today,” Nuland told reporters.
