NC's support of NCTC shows it is anti people: PDP

Srinagar: Opposition PDP today slammed Jammu and Kashmir’s ruling National Conference for supporting the creation of the controversial National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), saying it had shown the “anti-people colours” of the party. The four NC members in the Lok Sabha on Monday voted in support of NCTC, even as key UPA ally Trinamool Congress walked out in protest against the order. Accusing the NC of “hoodwinking” the people, People’s Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti alleged the party had “once again shown its anti-people colours by supporting a measure that erodes the authority of the states”. The PDP leader said the latest stance of NC was reminiscent of party chief Farooq Abdullah’s government when it enforced the now-defunct POTA in the state. PTI
