My wife is my best friend: Hugh Jackman

London: Hugh Jackman has revealed that he and wife Deborra-Lee Furness had an instant connection when they first met. The ‘Wolverine’ actor, who has been married to Furness for 17 years, said his wife is his best friend, reported Contactmusic. “From day one, we were best mates. We just clicked. We were giggling and laughing - we just connected. The bedrock of any relationship is to communicate, and Deb and I have always done that, discussing whatever’s going on, good or bad. You know those dolls that, when you lie them down, their eyes close? And as soon as they’re vertical, their eyes open? That’s Deb,” he said. Jackman, 44, confessed that he tries to keep the romance in their relationship alive. “If I bring Deb flowers every Tuesday, yeah, it’s nice, but is it romantic? One time when I got off early from work in Montreal, I pretended I was still on set. “I called Deb and said, ‘I’ll be back late tonight.’ (Then I surprised her) and she got such a shock. I’d made reservations at the lunch place we love. It was three hours before the kids finished school, and it was awesome because it was unplanned.” PTI
