Muslim scholars demand action against Pakistan

Aligarh, Jan 12 (IANS) Muslim intellectuals Saturday came down heavily on Pakistan over the brutal killing of two Indian soldiers near the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir, and asked the government to destroy terror camps in its territory.

“Pakistan is not honouring international laws and is continuing its terror activities. India should directly target its terror training camps,” said eminent scientist Humayun Murad at a seminar on the issue here.

The meet paid rich tributes to Lance Naik Hemraj and Lance Naik Sudhakar Singh who were killed Tuesday by Pakistani soldeirs who had intruded across the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector and ambushed an Indian patrol. Their mutilated bodies were later found by their colleagues.

Presiding over the meet, Millat Bedari Muhim Committee president Razaullah Khan said: “Islam has recommended certain rules even during wars and the chopping of the heads of two Indian soldiers by Pakistani Army is against Islam.”

The Aligarh Movement Magazine chief editor Jasim Mohammad pointed out that despite India’s efforts, Pakistan is continuing its proxy war against it and called for sustainable military strategies against the country.

Mohammad Shahid, member of the AMU executive council said: “Lives of our soldiers are not cheap that we compromise it on political or international consideration. We must act.”

The meet observed a two minute silence in memory of the two martyred soldiers. A resolution was passed demanding breaking of all diplomatic ties with Pakistan.
