The Karnataka High Court granted anticipatory bail to the former chief minister and his family members in two complaints relating to alleged irregularities in denotification of government lands.

More relief for Yeddyurappa, gets anticipatory bail

[caption id=“attachment_132532” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“AFP Photo”] [/caption] Bangalore: In further relief to former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, the High Court today granted anticipatory bail to him and his family members in two complaints relating to alleged irregularities in denotification of government lands. Justice H Billappa allowed bail applications moved by Yeddyurappa; his two sons BY Raghavendra, a Lok Sabha member and BY Vijayendra; and his son-in-law RN Sohan Kumar who had apprehended arrest in two private complaints filed against them in the Lokayukta special court. The court, while granting anticipatory bail, directed them to furnish a bond worth Rs 2 lakh and two sureties for the like sum. Advocate Sirajin Bhasha had filed the complaints alleging denotification of land illegally by Yeddyurappa to favour his family members. Yeddyurappa had earlier secured bail in two of the five private complaints regarding alleged illegal denotification of government lands. PTI
