Militants attack Assam Rifles post in Manipur, no casualty

Imphal: Militants attacked security posts near the Indo-Myanmar border and exchanged fire with the forces in Manipur, an official said today. There was no casualty on the side of the forces. Militants of another outfit exploded a powerful improvised explosive device bomb near the post of 39th Assam Rifles personnel who were patrolling Behiang area at Indo-Myanmar border on Tuesday. In another militancy-related incident, suspected militants hurled a powerful improvised explosive device at the residence of chairman of Imphal Urban Cooperatve bank RK Mobisana at Uripok area on Tuesday in Imphal West district but it failed to explode. It was not clear if the attack was linked with the monetary demand from the bank official. PTI
