Midnapore: In a revival of of Maoist violence in junglemhal after a year-long lull, two CRPF personnel were shot dead by the ultras during an encounter in West Bengal’s West Midnapore district today. The two personnel, RL Reddy and Bijoy Mahalakshmi, were fatally injured during the encounter which had erupted following a combing operation at Metla forest in Goaltore police station area, said superintendent of Police Sunil Chowdhury.[caption id=“attachment_475718” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Maoists threat. Reuters[/caption] They were declared brought dead in hospital, he said. The police suspected some Maoists were injured in the exchange of fire. Today’s incident was preceded on 28 September by the killing of a Trinamool Congress supporter Girish Sahis, a resident of Kismat Jambera village who had gone missing a day earlier. PTI
