Happy Mother's Day: Today's heartwarming Google Doodle is a tribute to Moms around the world

Google is celebrating motherhood of every kind, shape, size, and species with its latest doodle that adorns its homepage on Mothers’ Day. The search engine has attempted to pay  tribute to mothers all over the world with a cute animated doodle that depicts the bond of a mother and her child in different species to mark  Mother’s Day. Although the occasion is also celebrated on different days in many parts of the world, it is the second Sunday of May that is the most widely observed. [caption id=“attachment_2236608” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] Google Doodle Google Doodle[/caption] The third alphabet of Google is animated on the homepage. When clicked it starts showing a duck taking care of her duckling. It then shows a cub crying and the mother comes rushing to her offspring. It moves to show a mother rabbit sitting and her three children comes hopping towards her. Finally, it turns into a child who is seen running towards his mother, with a sunflower in hand. He then gives her a tight hug. The mother then holds the child in her arms and gives him a peck on his forehead. Doodler Olivia Huynh has tried at keeping the style of the characters minimalistic and in watercolour texture to make it more comforting and familiar. “Happy Mother’s Day to mothers of all shapes, sizes, and species! Today’s Doodle represents the universality of familial love,” writes Olivia Huynh. “Once I settled on the concept I did a quick rough pass at animation to make sure it would work visually. I decided to go with a watercolor texture because I think there’s something very comforting and familiar about it, that shows a more human hand. Thank you, moms, for bearing us, and bearing with us, every step of the way,” she added. Watch the video below
