New Delhi: Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal has claimed that he has been informed of threats against him, and has been warned that his office may be attacked. Kejriwal said he had received a number of calls from his “friends in the media”, including a top journalist with a TV news channel in the past two days, warning him that he might be attacked. Kejriwal’s statement comes in the wake of an attack on fellow Team Anna member Prashant Bhushan last week in his office. Though it was claimed that Bhushan’s controversial remarks advocating a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir provoked the assault, Team Anna saw a “conspiracy” behind the incident. Claiming that it was an attempt to divert attention from the issue of corruption, Kejriwal had questioned police actions, alleging that the cops did not act swiftly against the attackers and wondered whether there were “instructions from the top” to do so. “We don’t think it is the Kashmir remarks which have provoked the attacks. It appears that all the corrupt people have got together. It was an attempt to divert attention from the issue of corruption. We feel there is a conspiracy,” Kejriwal had said on Friday. PTI
